About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer (FO) to oversee the financial strategy and operations of our organization in the UAE. The FO will be responsible for financial planning, accounting, reporting, and risk management, ensuring the company’s financial health as we scale in the digital asset sector. This role is critical in managing both the financial and strategic aspects of the business, ensuring alignment with the overall corporate vision while navigating the complexities of the digital assets space.

You will have the following responsibilities
• Support the ADGM company in obtaining its Category 3a Financial Services Permission (FSP) at the earliest opportunity
• Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, auditors, and other key stakeholders, serving as the primary point of contact
• Lead the development and implementation of financial strategies, ensuring the company meets its financial goals
• Ensure compliance with relevant FSRA and ADGM financial regulations and requirements
• Oversee financial planning, accounting, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
• Manage financial risk, including market risk, liquidity risk, and currency exposure, particularly in the context of digital assets
• Ensure the company complies with all financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements, both locally and internationally
• Collaborate with senior leadership on capital allocation, investment strategies, and funding initiatives
• Lead the preparation of accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Work closely with the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to assess and mitigate risks related to financial transactions and market volatility
• Collaborate with key stakeholders and financial institutions to ensure robust financial performance and transparency
• Monitor and manage the company’s liquidity and cash flow, optimizing capital structure and funding strategies

What you bring along?
• CPA/CA qualification or an equivalent professional certification in accounting/finance
• A minimum of 10+ years of experience in finance, with significant experience in the fintech or digital asset space
• Previous experience in a role as FO in an ADGM/FSRA, DIFC/DFSA or VARA regulated entity
• Proven experience in financial planning, risk management, and regulatory compliance, particularly within dynamic and emerging markets
• Strong leadership skills, with a track record of managing and mentoring finance teams
• Deep understanding of the regulatory and compliance frameworks governing financial transactions in the UAE and other relevant jurisdictions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
