Job description / Role
A global organisation within the retail industry is looking for a young and ambitious Financial Accountant for their office in Dubai.
You will take ownership of the recording and maintenance of the company's day to day financial records, management reporting and financial statement preparation. The ideal candidate must be detail orientated, eager to learn and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
As Financial Accountant. you will be a key stakeholder in the success of Finance and Operations. Your responsibilities will include:
* Maintain the General Ledger, Financial records and Inter-Company accounting
* Perform period close activities in line with company policies and procedures
* Preparation of various management reporting packs
* Produce error-free accounting reports
* Verify, post and reconcile transactions
* Recording & analysis of revenues and expenses
* Liaise with external auditors at year-end
* Preparation of Cash Flow report
* Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts
* Provide cover for Accounts Payable functions when necessary
* Maintain organised set of detailed records and files of financial transactions
* Assist in ad hoc analysis and support senior Finance stakeholders as required
Requirements
* Qualified or part-qualified accountant
* Advanced MS Excel knowledge
* Highly detail-oriented and organised
* Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
* Relevant industry experience would be preferred (Retail or FMCG)
* Excellent English communication skills
* Strong problem solving skills
* Ability to own responsibilities and take initiative
