Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

This role is responsible for overseeing the operations of the accounting department, enhancing the accuracy of financial transactions and the production of monthly financial reports. You will engage with stakeholders across the business and will have ownership of the monthly management reports and provide key input and support to the Chief Accountant for cash flow and forecasting, as well as performing ad hoc analysis and project work.

Specific responsibilities will include:
* Manage all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory and fixed assets accounting, and revenue recognition;
* Assist the Chief Accountant in the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances;
* Prepare and publish timely monthly management reports;
* Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting, government reporting and tax filings when they commence in 2018;
* Research technical accounting issues for compliance;
* Support month-end and year-end close process;
* Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting;
* Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls;
* Performing monthly reviews of all journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations;
* Maintaining an orderly filing system, both electronically and in hard copy for all accounting records;
* Liaise with and assist external auditors in the performance of their duties;
* Assist with designing and implementing in-house training programs for finance staff;
* Perform ad-hoc tasks as they arise

Requirements

As a qualified accountant and degree holder you will be able to demonstrate prior experience in a financial controlling role where you have been responsible for a team of accountants and are able to demonstrate a positive impact that you have made on the department.

You will have a high level of attention to detail, very good technical accounting knowledge and be confident in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders. As you will be required to produce and present insightful analysis to a broad audience, it is essential your written and verbal communication skills in the English language are first rate. Advanced Excel skills are also key.
