Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client has large manufacturing plant is currently recruiting for a Financial Controller who will be responsible of ensuring accurate and on time data, analysis and controls for production operations and to support business decision by preparing and analyzing metrics providing meaningful and actionable commentary.

Main Responsibilities includes but not limited to:
- Work closely with plant and operations personnel in order to understand the various aspects of the operation and the impact on financial performance.
- Prepare, interpret and review all Production manufacturing, Logistics and Ops Admin operating expense and variances, inventory and capital expenditures. Accountable for the operation and maintenance of a standard cost system in order to provide accurate costs to value inventories and cost of sales.
- Prepares profitability analysis and evaluates new products including pricing relative to the market as well as setting up appropriate mark-ups
- Analysis and reporting of actual results for month, quarterly, annual and trending versus prior year and budget.
- Prepare and analyze metrics providing meaningful and actionable commentary.
- Sets up effective control systems where needed in coordination with the CFO
- Preparation, review and local approval of all capital project activities. Payback, ROI and IRR analysis as appropriate. Assists with capital budget and project tracking of actual versus requested capital.
- Track and analyze inventory levels on monthly basis; Responsible for reporting inventory balances at month end, review reconciliations and necessary inventory provisions per policy. Plant inventory forecasts will also be required for the forecast and Budget process.
- Special Projects – Work on special projects as directed by Finance and operations. Projects will generally focus on creation and maintenance of internal control structure, continuous process improvement and efficient and effective operation of all financial activities

Requirements

- Degree with a major in Finance
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive Cost Accounting experience and management reporting in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of a manufacturing environment and standard cost systems
- Business acumen capability, strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills - Microsoft office required, large ERP experience (Oracle) preferred
- Should possess a good knowledge of Excel and have prior experience in working with large databases.
- Strong ability to work together with other team members, exchanging information and supporting colleagues to achieve personal and team goals. Should be comfortable working with plant operations management and staff on the manufacturing floor, as well as communicating results to corporate financial management
