Financial Controller

Job description / Role

Al Salam Community School, Al Twar, Dubai, is looking for a steadfast Financial Controller with the versatility of providing financial reports and interpreting financial information that will analyse every day financial activities and subsequently provide advice and guidance to upper management on future financial plans.

• You will be advising on strategies that the company should take to maintain the financial health and strategic growth of the organization.
• The goal is to enable the company’s CEO and Director to make sound business decisions and meet the School’s expansion plans.
• You will lead the Finance Department out of the back-office and encourage other departments to actively work in partnership with them.
• As the Financial Controller you need strong leadership skills, interpersonal flair and more than a touch of charisma.
• Because the need for partnering means that you must carry out your financial – and highly technical – role within the entire business environment. The so-called soft skills are just as important as the hard figures.

Your main responsibilities are in all aspects of the following:

• Accounts
• Budgeting
• Data Analysis and Forecasting
• Auditing duties
• Personality and interpersonal skills
• Ability to streamline functions and passion to learn and grow
• Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
• Experience working with and presenting to senior executives
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; be comfortable interacting with executive-level management

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

Essentials

• High proficiency with financial modeling and techniques
• Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions
• BA, BS, or B.Com degree required (Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics)
• Masters Degree with a major in Finance will be given preference
• Strong analytical and data gathering skills
• Good business acumen

Required certifications:

• CA or ACCA Certification is a must
• Any other relevant qualification and certification will be an added advantage
