Job description / Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Manager to join our dynamic team in the tourism industry. As a Financial Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our tourism operations, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's goals and objectives.
- Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting to provide insightful recommendations for business decisions.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and report on variances.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess financial risks associated with tourism operations.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard financial assets and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Present financial information to executive management, highlighting key performance indicators and financial trends.
Cost Control:
- Implement cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency without compromising service quality.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts with vendors and service providers to ensure favorable terms for the organization.
Compliance and Regulations:
- Stay informed about relevant financial regulations and industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and other legal requirements.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments, such as operations, marketing, and sales, to align financial strategies with overall business objectives.
- Provide financial guidance to support decision-making across various departments.
Cash Management:
- Manage cash flow and liquidity, ensuring adequate funds are available for day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.
- Optimize cash management processes to maximize returns on surplus funds.
Financial Controls:
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Conduct periodic audits to assess and improve financial procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Financial Manager in the tourism or hospitality industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and budgeting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
