Job description / Role
To provide legal, advisory and documentation support to Financial Markets in the region with Sales, Structuring & Trading across all asset classes with a focus on Structured Funding, Credit Derivatives/Structured Credit, Islamic Derivatives, Commodities, Bespoke Credit Solutions, Rates and Foreign Exchange, Islamic Structured Funding.
Judgement:
* As Senior Legal Counsel, you must be able to make judgement calls not just from a documentation perspective but also in light of the bank's policies and procedures and conduct considerations.
* Many issues which arise in the course of drafting or negotiating documentation are not legal issues but involve aspects of credit, market, event or operational risk.
* Negotiation of documentation often requires a judgement decision in which a balance must be struck between the interests of doing business and of protecting the bank.
* Must be able to adapt his/her approach to a range of legal systems which may differ considerably from the system he/she was trained in.

Requirements
* Senior banking lawyer with derivatives/financial markets experience
Experience and knowledge:
* Qualified lawyer, preferably in a common law jurisdiction.
* Minimum 6 years PQE
* Deep experience in derivatives across all asset classes and in particular credit.
* Experience in general commercial banking.
* Deep experience in structured finance and associated derivatives.
