Job summary
The fire fighting technician will handle the installation and maintenance of mechanical fire protection systems. The role requires a candidate who can ensure system integrity through precise piping assembly and rigorous pressure testing according to international safety codes.
Key responsibilities
- System installation: Install fire sprinkler networks, hydrants, and hose reel systems in high-rise and industrial environments.
- Mechanical assembly: Perform pipe preparation using roll-grooving machines and threading equipment. Ensure all mechanical joints are seated correctly to prevent leaks.
- Testing & commissioning: Conduct hydrostatic pressure tests and flow tests to verify system performance before Civil Defense inspections.
- Pump room maintenance: Assist in the setup and routine servicing of fire pumps, including checking valves, gauges, and mechanical seals.
- Technical compliance: Ensure all installations meet NFPA 13 and NFPA 25 requirements as well as local UAE Life Safety Codes.
- Maintenance: Diagnose and repair leaks or mechanical failures in existing fire protection piping networks.
Qualifications & skills
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in the UAE fire fighting industry.
- Key skills: hardware & networking, food & beverage, field, inventory management, back office.
