Fire Fighting Technician (Mechanical)

Job description / Role

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of firefighting equipment to ensure optimal functionality during emergencies.
• Utilize advanced firefighting techniques and equipment, including hoses, extinguishers, and aerial ladders, while adhering to safety regulations.
• Collaborate with emergency response teams to coordinate fire suppression efforts and ensure timely evacuation of affected areas.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment inspections, training sessions, and incident reports to support compliance and operational efficiency.
• Stay physically fit and prepared for the demands of firefighting tasks, including climbing, lifting, and operating heavy equipment.

Desired Candidate Profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in fire science or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in firefighting or emergency services is required.
• Strong technical skills in operating firefighting systems, tools, and equipment are crucial.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and quick decision-making capabilities under pressure.
• Physical fitness is essential, including stamina, strength, and the ability to perform strenuous tasks in challenging environments.
