Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We are seeking a strong, strategic and practical leader to fill the position of Fleet Controller based in our head office in Dubai. The position calls for an experienced individual with drive and energy to enable the team to be best in class, with the aim of being able to deliver operational excellence and stakeholder satisfaction.

Will be accountable and responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
• Direct and control the activities of the Fleet operation through efficient systems and processes (some of which will need to be built) to ensure cost-effective use of resources and to provide high-quality service to internal divisions and stakeholders.
• Establish robust processes by implementing quality maintenance schedules, mechanical and electrical repairs works, including timely preventive maintenance & service schedule, (for both diesel and petrol vehicles) to ensure minimum downtime, safety and reliability of the vehicles.
• To provide advice to managers and staff on all transport related issues to improve service level and efficiency.
• Comply with all statutory compliance requirements related to the vehicles concerning Road Transport Authorities, Municipality and other government agencies to protect the company against any statutory penalties.
• Manage spends on purchase of assets and consumable inventories in liaison with the Procurement Department to ensure that Fleet Budgets are in control.
• Ensure timely renewals of insurance and registration of all vehicles to minimize risk meet transport regulations of UAE.
• Manage healthy relationships with external suppliers (e.g. Dealers, Leasing companies, Fuel card providers, bulk diesel suppliers, tyres, and maintenance) to ensure preferred treatment and delivering best value.
• Demonstrate continuous effort to improve fleet operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes.
• Maintain up-to-date record on all vehicles operating in the UAE for the purpose of efficient tracking of repair, maintenance and service.
• Maintain an awareness of new developments in transport to ensure that Company continues to provide the most effective service possible.
• Management of up to 3 direct reports.

Requirements

• Diploma/ Degree in any field from a reputable university.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Operational Estate Management in a multinational company – Middle East based firm a strong plus.
• Experienced at providing detailed practical advice on overcoming business issues and challenges; particularly in a multi-cultural environment.
• Knowledge in workshop maintenance.
• Excellent leadership skills and the ability to coach and mentor.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and computer skills (MS Office).
• The ability to work under considerable pressure and be able to put very long hours as and when the business demands.
• Experienced at analyzing information / data, to solve problems and formulate views and conclusions
• Able to confidently present solutions, issues and findings in both a concise written and oral format
• Good project management skills, with the ability to manage more than one assignment at a time and yet still demonstrate quality and consistency of performance in every task
