Fleet Manager

Job description / Role

• Draw up yearly fleet projection and fleet plans to identify vehicle numbers and mix fleet to meet the business objectives.
• Reviews purchase requests for new vehicles and negotiate with car suppliers to increase profits
• Conduct fleet inventory for controlling the fleet count in the software system and actual physical status to keep track record of company assets value in terms of vehicles
• Plans and directs the operation of registration, renewals, salik, traffic fines, insurance policy, service, maintenance and repair of vehicles to have complete update of vehicles in order to run a cost effective fleet operation.
• Evaluate overall operation in order to prepare cost analysis, periodic management, operational and fleet related risk management reports
• Maintain relationships with other departments in order to receive reports for prioritizing, planning and organizing to deliver efficient service in line with company budget.
• Ensure that all drivers understand and procure the licenses and permits they need to legally carry loads to customer destinations.
• Manage lease contracts and Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• To manage the company fleet in the most cost effective and efficient manner in order to reach stock maximum utilization in line with company objective.
• Also responsible for selecting and maintaining vehicles in order to keep deliveries and distributions on schedule and within its established budget.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies:

Educational Qualification:
• Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualification:
• Mechanical Engineering/Automobile engineering

Years of Experience:
• 5 years managerial role in a transport company

Job specific skills:
• Vehicle knowledge, Time management and Risk Management

Key competencies:
• Planning & Organizing, Problem solving, Communications
