Job description / Role

To supervise and manage all workers in the construction site ensuring the highest standards of quality, organization, coordination, and safety is met. And to update and communicate to the Site Engineer the daily construction progress.

Outcome:

The Foreman needs to prove excellent technical, and communication skills. The minimum technical qualifications are:
• Advanced diploma in civil or structural engineering. Bachelor’s degree will be a great advantage.
• Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
• 5 years of experience.
• Fluency in English.

During his first 2 months the Forman must recruit and train the best workers possible to successfully complete construction projects.

The Foreman must ensure that all workers are qualified and knowledgeable about their roles and make assignments according to their skill sets.

The Forman will ensure that each construction project meets the following criteria: 100% cost control & optimization, 85% project delivery as per construction schedule, 100% project delivery as per quality requirements, 0.00% staff injuries on project site, and 100% document control. The activities that the Forman will lead and be heavily involved in to achieve the above desired outcomes are:
• Coordinate the layout and execution of individual trade work on the project site.
• Verify that all required tools, equipment, and materials are available on site at all times.
• Ensure all craft work conforms to contract requirements.
• Prepare daily time sheets for all supervised personnel.
• Ensure that the jobsite is kept orderly and clean.
• Ensure that all individuals on jobsite wear use the proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Educate all workers about potential hazards and on the jobsite emergency procedure.
• Full compliance with local construction rules and regulations.

The Foreman will improve the company’s overall expertise and knowledge of the best construction practices. This is achieved by:
• Transferring knowledge to other colleagues by training and mentoring them.
• Securing a continues flow of the best workers.

During his/her first year the Foreman needs to demonstrate:
• Outstanding skills in managing workers and construction activities.
• Continues and aggressive knowledge accumulation.
