Job description / Role
• To carry out all reception duties as required. This includes meeting and greeting visitors for client meetings and other events, liaising with meeting hosts re their clients and meeting requirements and following specific instructions for individual meetings and visitors.
• To ensure that all visitors and staff are dealt with efficiently and courteously ensuring that a high standard of customer service is provided at all times. This role requires the Receptionist to personally take responsibility for all requests ensuring that they are completed, if not exceeding, expectations.
• To continuously monitor the reception area and meeting rooms. To ensure that they are always tidy and presentable and take corrective action where necessary to maintain a high standard.
• To be aware of security issues when carrying out reception duties and follow instructions with particular reference to visitors, confidential papers in meeting rooms and deliveries made to reception by hand.
• To answer the main switchboard telephone, according to the firm’s standards, for both external and internal calls. Dealing with the call transfers, enquiries or requests in a polite, efficient and proactive manner. Taking responsibility for the call to ensure a high standard of customer service is provided at all times.
• Undertake other clerical tasks as required, which includes but is not limited to the management of:
- ouriers, internal pouch, staff work-related document relocation
- booking of transport locally and between UAE offices
- internal and client catering
- ordering of business cards and office flower/cake occasions
- office recycling and shredding services

• Ability to work and keep calm under pressure
• Use of initiative, ability to think on feet
• Personable demeanour
Education / Qualification:
• Minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent including English
Languages:
• Excellent knowledge of English language, written and spoken
Practical experience:
• Experience of a client-facing or service-oriented environment
• Two years living and working in Dubai. Good knowledge of the city
• Previous experience of staffing a reception desk and providing a switchboard service (desirable)
• Experience of working in a financial services or professional services company (desirable)
