This is a fantastic opportunity for a Fulfillment & Logistics Technology Leader to join a renowned retail group in the Middle East, working as part of the Group Technology function

The successful candidate will work with the Fulfillment and Supply Chain leadership teams to drive digital transformation across Warehousing, Transport, Order Management and Last Mile capabilities

What you'll be doing

The Fulfillment & Logistics Technology Lead is accountable to the Chief Fulfillment & Logistics Officer for all elements of Technology provision and is expected to:

In summary, you will lead a team of Scrum Masters, Solution Architects, Development teams, Business Analysts and 3rd party suppliers to:

- Create and implement the Technology strategy and direction for Fulfillment and Logistics
- Manage the architecture: identifying optimisation and legacy replacement opportunities
- Select appropriate technology, leading vendor assessments and tech. Selections
- Run large-scale transformations: ensure on-time, in-full and to-budget delivery of projects
- Innovate and challenge: identify new ways for tech. To drive value in Fulfillment & Logistics
- Manage the TCO: take accountability for ensuring technology costs drive business benefit

Managing your team, you will:

- Act as the single point of contact for all matters relating to Fulfillment & Logistics Technology: whether related to new demand, existing projects or service-related issues
- Fully understand Fulfillment and Logistics strategies, expected outcome, deliverables and value that needs to be generated from technology
- Support the business to translate business requirements into technology requirements and recommended new capabilities/enhancements to be added to the backlog
- Ensure the integrity, scalability and flexibility of the Technology architecture and roadmap for Fulfillment & Logistics (e.g., ability to add new brands, new warehouses, new carriers, new channels and eCommerce store fronts)
- Ensure that Fulfillment &Logistics solution requirements are defined, groomed and planned effectively for DevSecOps delivery management
- Manage the on-budget delivery of solution delivery efforts through close tracking of budget and forecast spend, pro-actively recommending opportunities to maximise the ROI of project budgets
- Actively manage the operational activity of external vendors and delivery partners supporting solution design/build activity
- Proactively manage and mitigate delivery risks, ensuring prompt escalation and resolution
- Work in close partnership with services colleagues to ensure that product issues are within the agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs), running costs are within plan, and work collaboratively to continually enhance the product quality and avoid 'technical debt' (outdated technical components)

Requirements

What you'll need to succeed

- Degree Educated, with 8-10 years post graduate work experience working with Logistics related solutions, preferably in a business facing IT/Digital role
- Deep understanding of Fulfillment & Logistics processes and practical experience of improvement of these processes using technology in the Retail sector (ideally Fashion and Beauty)
- Demonstrated experience in implementing systems such as WMS, OMS, TMS and other supply chain systems for OmniChannel Retailers
- Experience and appreciation for the Middle East would be preferable but not essential
- Experience delivering and managing complex solutions (multi-platform, multi-technology, 3rd parties) end-to-end (e.g., solution integration, data management and effective cutover and release strategies)
- Experience working with modern integration technologies is preferable (e.g., a good understanding of API design patterns and frameworks, micro services, API gateways, API security etc.)
- Awareness and understanding of Lean-Agile project management and solution development methodologies and frameworks e.g., Dev Ops and SAFe.
- Experience in large regional/global organisations using in-sourced and out-sourced IT service providers
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated to plan your own and your team's work to meet overall goals and objectives
- Experience in complex team management: you will have previously managed multi location, mixed internal/external teams effectively to deliver expected outcomes
- Strong facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills (considering the need for orchestration and organisation of multiple internal parties: business, central Tech, Brands, Geographies)
- Effective communication and relationship management - experience working with business stakeholders across various business functions (considering the need to manage demanding business stakeholders: ability to collaborate, influence but also challenge senior business stakeholders on their requirements)
- Robust teamwork proven both within and outside the Tech function
- Ability to generate trust, build alliances, and orchestrate interdisciplinary matrix teams, with internal and external team members
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated to plan your own and your team's work to meet overall goals and objectives
- Experience in complex team management: you will have previously managed multi location, mixed internal/external teams effectively to deliver expected outcomes
