Fund Accountant

Job description / Role

The incumbent will be responsible for providing operational support for the administration of third party equity and real estate managed funds.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities by Dimensions:

Shareholder & Financial:
- Monitoring and reporting on daily activity.
- Accurately checking and processing of all fund-related invoices.
- Investigating breaks in the cash account.
- Overseeing transaction settlements.
- Reconciliation of daily cash activity.
- Bank account reconciliations.
- Preparation of periodic management reports.
- Timely and accurate preparation of regular management accounts and financial statements.
- Timely and accurate preparation of statutory accounts.

Customer (Internal & External):
- Liaising with front office staff and providing support as required.
- Liaising with internal and external auditors as required.
- Liaising with third party accountants, auditors, lawyers and trustees as required.

Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory):
- Establishing and maintaining policies and procedures for the fund accounting function.
- Ensuring all relevant regulatory and accounting requirements are met.

Learning & Knowledge:
- Identifies areas for professional development of self.

Other:
- Ensures high standards of confidentiality and ethics to safeguard commercially sensitive information.

Requirements

- CAT / ACCA qualified.
- Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience as a fund or private equity accountant using double entry accounting, IFRS and experience in VAT / tax treatment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with Arabic an advantage.
- Good organizational and administration skills and an attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
