General Accountant

Job description / Role

The role encompasses a range of financial and accounting responsibilities. Key duties include preparing accurate financial reports for clients on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Proficient use of QuickBooks is essential for managing client accounts, and implementing software features for process optimization is expected.

Effective deadline management is crucial, as is coordinating with auditors to facilitate timely completion of audit reports, including preparing schedules and documentation. The role also involves filing VAT returns, staying updated on relevant laws, and ensuring the timely update of client documents in portals.

Bookkeeping and reconciliation tasks include maintaining organized financial records and performing monthly reconciliations. Regular communication with clients is essential to provide updates, address inquiries, and discuss strategic recommendations.

Additionally, the position requires staying informed about corporate tax laws to provide accurate tax advice and help clients optimize their tax strategies.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or other relevant professional certification preferred.
- Proven experience in accounting, preferably in a client accounting services role or similar capacity.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to adapt to changing client needs, priorities, and workloads while maintaining professionalism and quality.

Salary:
AED 8,000 to 10,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
