Job Title: General Accountant
Department: Head Office, Middle East, Dubai
Reporting to: Finance Manager, Middle East
My esteemed client, a reputed, high-end, luxury retail brand seeks a general accountant for their head office in Dubai. Candidates with luxury retail backgrounds only are encouraged to apply. This is a very hands on role with no direct reportee’s, the ideal candidate would be solely responsible for their function and need to build a structure and process they are comfortable with. You must be creative and dynamic and possess the tenacity to think outside the box.
Role Purpose:
To provide accounting support to finance department, day to day activities will include (but not limited to) account payable, account receivable, treasury, reconciliation of accounts, booking of expenses, stock adjustment and write offs.
Key Responsibilities
• Accounts Payables
• Supplier related (vendor creation, master data management)
• Invoice process
• Credit Note accounting
• Payment process
• Accounts Receivables
• Shop Sales Posting
• Shop & E-com Sales recon (manually done for concession/consignments)
• Shop in Shop billing (manual)
• AP/AR aging reporting and (bad)debt management & provision calculation
• Record to Report
• Balance sheet reconciliation
• Support month-/year-end closing
• Chart of account management
• Retail account reconciliation including cash, credit cards and customer accounts
• Accrual management including posting of accruals
• Stock adjustment management
• Fixed Assets accounting, CAPEX reporting and tracking
• Store support (opening, closing, SAP integration, data management, payment integration, stock take)
• Intercompany transactions, reconciliations and ensuring all books are reconciled
• End of Service management support for HR
• Lead the audit process and activities including year-end, stock take and sales audit
• Preparation and submission of the VAT report
Monthly stock reconciliation
• Booking and monitoring rent expenses
• Support in tracking and reviewing the shared service/external provider performance
• Handles treasury related duties such as processing of payments and liaising with the banks
• Petty cash management and cash collection from stores reconciliation
• Cheque preparation, booking and tracking
• Development of new templates and best practice approaches
Salary:
AED
16,000 to 18,000
per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
Requirements
Experience Required/Qualifications
• Certified accountant
• Experience and knowledge of US-GAAP
• 5 year experience in the same field
• Experience of working in a fast paced and complex environment
• Luxury Retail background is mandatory
