Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We are currently recruiting for a General Counsel to work for a highly regarded local Intermediary service with strong local and international ties.

You will be responsible for managing all legal matters on behalf of the company including:
- Acting as the company legal advisor, clarifying any legal disputes/questions within the company.
- Drafts and reviews legal documentation like MOAs, MOUs, CAAs, partnership agreements, resolutions, offering options/ suggestions as to the legal standing of the business.
- Manage renewals (for trade licenses and other legal documents), attestations, notarizations, POAs etc.
- Manage lease and franchise agreements – review and make recommendations etc.
- Manage the insurance process for the company.
- Manage due diligence as and when needed.
- Drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts based on the needs of the business.
- Drafts and reviews of documentation, and supervises external counsel acting on the Company’s or subsidiaries behalf.
- Negotiates in Company related disputes where legal input is required.
- Ensure compliance with government requirements across the company.
- Coordinate with courts, law firms, clients etc as and when required.
- Conduct legal research as and when required.
- Reviews agreements and legal arrangements.
- Informs management of implications of international rules and regulations which may affect the business.

Requirements

- A degree in law from a recognised university in the UK.
- Admission to a recognised bar association desirable.
- Between 4-6 years in experience as a legal advisor in the Gulf and the UK.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills.

Applicants must be completely fluent in spoken and written English and be able to communicate effectively around technical issues. Spoken Arabic is desirable.

Ability to review and negotiate government and commercial contracts.

Basic computer skills (including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes).
