Job description / Role
Leading multi-disciplinary architecture and engineering consultancy with a strong GCC operation, have in recent years grown their studio locations outside of the region and experiencing an exciting period of growth and development.
With a well known portfolio of varied works, this firm have designed and delivered some of the largest and most complex projects in the Middle East.
The Dubai operation is growing across all disciplines and currently seek a General Manager who will lead the operations and lead the business through its next chapter of growth and beyond
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
• Coordination and Supervision - Coordinate, manage and monitor the workings of various departments in the organization ensuring successful project delivery standards and processes
• Financial - Review financial statements and data. Utilize financial data to improve profitability. Prepare and control operational budgets. Plan effective strategies for the financial well being of the company.
• Best Practices - Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
• Human Resources - Plan the use of human resources with assistance from the HR Department. Overseeing the appropriate recruitment, resources planning and succession planning for employees.
• Communication - Monitor, manage and improve the efficiency of support services such as IT, HR, Accounts and Finance. Facilitate coordination and communication between support functions.
• Strategic Input - Liaison with Executive, International management. Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity. Implement and manage operational plans.
Requirements
• University degree in Engineering/Architecture, with further studies into Business Management.
• Experience in the UAE, harnessing technical and operational responsibilities ideally.
• Management of large teams, approx. 200 employees
• Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management
• Knowledge of business and management principles and practices
• Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices
• Knowledge of human resource principles and practices
• Knowledge of project management principles and practices
