Overview

Dnata Airport Operations' vast ground handling operations successfully service the major global hub that is Dubai International Airport. We deliver a seamless experience from check-in to baggage delivery for more than 80 million passengers and 140 scheduled airlines annually.

As General Manager of dnata Global Load Control, you will lead and direct the dnata Global Load Control business for contracted customer airlines, ensuring that strategic and tactical plans are developed and implemented to deliver the set objectives and customer agreements.

You will be accountable for developing the global load control business in line with the one dnata strategy, achieving financial targets, complying with local, international, and internal regulatory standards, managing operations efficiently, and delivering a customer-focused service. This full-time role is based in our Dubai office and will involve frequent business travel.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Define and implement the business strategy (3-5 years) for the Global Load Control business.
• Create and deliver a commercial proposition of dnata Global Load Control to continuously grow the market position as a leading provider of load control services.
• Manage and develop relationships with key clientele, airlines, vendors, government authorities, and other service providers, forging relationships that support and promote the business.
• Manage effective achievement of defined objectives through the establishment of a commercial and operational KPI framework.
• Oversee the implementation of policies, systems, processes, procedures, and controls to ensure procedural and legislative requirements are fulfilled.
• Lead the dnata Load Control operation globally, ensuring the highest levels of service delivery in line with customer operating procedures according to Airport Handling Manual (AHM) and local regulatory requirements.
• Be responsible to keep the Board advised of all critical issues relating to the company performance and provide timely guidance on the company's business prospects.
• Be directly accountable for the financial performance of the global load control operation against agreed budgeted revenue and profitability targets, as well as for the budgeting and effective utilization of overhead expenses, manpower resources, and capital expenditure.

Ideal Candidate Profile

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or Honours in a related discipline.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in an international airline or ground handling agent with exposure to load control (weight and balance).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a management position with demonstrated experience in commercial management of contracted airline services.
• In-depth knowledge of airport handling procedures in areas of ground operations, dispatch and load control, passenger services, baggage, and ramp services.
• Current knowledge and demonstrated capability relating to airline and ground handling Safety Management Systems, Risk Prevention, and Business Continuity Planning.
• Strong financial, commercial, and analytical acumen, including demonstrated experience and accountability for managing a large P&L.

You will have an edge if you have:

• Experience leading and implementing business transformation initiatives.
• Experience in load control (weight & balance).
