Employment: Full Time

A diversified local company in Abu Dhabi is currently recruiting for a UAE National- General Services Unit Head. You will be directly reporting to the Technical Operations Director.

The General Services Unit Head manages the day-to-day general technical maintenance services operations of the company, based on a system of coordination, steering and supervision administered in order to achieve an irreproachable quality of service, meet established targets, objectives and employee engagement in a motivated work environment.

Key Responsibilities/Duties

Managerial Role:
- Provide direction and manage employees in the Administration of general services operations section in performing their delegated tasks;
- Performance management, career development guidance, setting objectives and KPI’s of their direct reports and ensuring the development of all employees within the Department (in coordination with the HR Department);
- Define metrics for the measurement of the success for the administration of general technical maintenance services operations, initiatives and projects, analyze data collected to determine the success of past and current initiatives and projects and use recommendations to ensure the design and implementation of future projects meet the goals and objectives and prepare reports on the overall performance of the Administration of general technical maintenance services for the Technical Maintenance & FM Manager;
- Ensure that the performance of various tasks and the conduct of the staff in the Section are in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures;
- Development and management of the Administration of general services operations Departmental budget for input to the Technical, Operations budget.

Organizational Role:
- Working with the Technical Operations Director, develop medium and long-term strategic plans of the Department in line with the company’s vision, mission and strategic goals;
- Establish departmental goals, methods, policies and procedures for implementing programmes in alignment with the Administration of general services Sector and Authority’s strategic vision, mission and goals;
- Reviews project proposals or plans to determine time requirements and funding limitations within the Administration of Technical Operations / General Services Section;
- Establishes departmental plans which project funding, feasibility, staffing, and time constraints of the department ensuring the availability of required resources to carry out all the tasks related to the IT Section (in coordination with HR Department);

Functional Role:
- Contributes to the satisfactory operations of administrative services (reprography, post, messenger, archives, furniture, store), moving & handling services, reception and cleaning;
- Executes and oversees the implementation of department policies, procedures, controls, and management covering all areas of general services.;
- Executes operational management and implements planning of staff and contractors.;
- Motivates employees and informs what is expected of them.;
- Monitors the performance quality indicators and adapts general services accordingly;
- Participates in determination and control of general services budget.;

- Efficiency of Outsourced Projects

Quality Control:
- Key Performance Measures
- Performance appraisals conducted and submitted on time;
- Training hours per person per year in line with annual minimum training hour requirements;
- Employee satisfaction index. Administration of general services strategic and operational plan submitted within the required timeframe, with complete substantiation, justifications, ensuring budgetary and staffing considerations are outlined, acceptance of the Administration of general services strategic Plan by the Technical and Facility Management.
- Vendor issues are dealt with within pre-set SLA timeframe;
- Projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Quality of administration of general services functions provided;
- Compliance of functions to set policies and guidelines;
- Compliance to licensing agreements;
- Number of problems/gaps identified and resolved within established SLA timeline.

Requirements

- Graduate Degree [First Cycle, Bachelor] or higher diploma in Business Management or relevant discipline
- 4 to 8 years experience in a services and/or administrative function with the last 4 years in a managerial position at a services and/or administrative function
- Work Conditions & Specific Parameters
- Administrative working hours; event-scheduled working hours
- On-call time at place of work
- Travel required
- Possible after hour duties
