Job description / Role
This role is exceptionally specialist and a new senior position within the organisation. It requires those with highly specific exposure to tax regulations, insight and forward planning to mitigate risk in post conflict countries such as Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq and others on a global scale. It is not a standard tax specialist role in any way and therefore only those who are able to identify, mitigate, expose, manage and navigate a way through highly complex tax issues and compliance at a senior level should apply.

The company continues to win awards annually for its efforts, particularly within the empowerment of women and local communities. The CEO is also involved in many global advisory and philanthropic Senior Leadership Committees and Boards.
With contracts and manpower in countries predominantly across the Middle East, Africa and South America, the successful candidate will possess extensive tax and banking compliance knowledge of each country in order to reduce cost and establish entities in the afore mentioned jurisdictions. This will also require extensive legal knowledge with regards to company incorporations and the tax implications of such. You will take a highly detailed analytical approach with the ability to delve deeply into tax and legal terms and foster strong relationships with on the ground expertise, who can assist you to navigate convoluted regulations, governmental red tape and political restrictions. A highly complex role, excellent communication at all levels of seniority with both internal and external stakeholders is a key aspect for the successful candidate. This exciting position is not a traditional industry or corporate Tax Manager. The tax challenges you face must not only be fully understood, but constantly improved upon and monitored.
Requirements
It is essential that you hold a relevant finance degree and approximately 5 years in a similar specialist senior tax position, which is expected to be from within the oil and gas or mining industries outside of the UAE. The successful incumbent should also possess the ability to understand the demands of the business quickly and implement change with maximum impact to the bottom line.
