Graduate Engineer - Transport Planning

Main Purpose of the Job:

Support a team of consultants and technicians working on a variety of transport planning projects. As a Graduate transport planner you will be involved in contributing to the delivery of a wide range of strategic transport projects for various high-profile clients across the Middle East

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

* Apply sound theoretical knowledge on projects
* Undertake standard engineering and planning assignments
* Calculations, analysis, designs and reports
* The ability to broaden theoretical knowledge as required for projects
* Demonstrate the ability to use initiative to solve basic problems
* Understanding of the Mott MacDonald Methodology, and implementing this on projects:
* Filing and quality control
* Reporting, formatting and revision control
* The ability to prioritise tasks and manage his/her own time on projects, and to meet deadlines
* The ability to understand when a problem must be escalated to the next level, and to do so in a timely manner
* Assist seniors to deliver projects effectively by taking responsibility for tasks provided
* Identify own training needs

Requirements

Essential Candidate Requirements:

* Minimum 5 years plus experience in transport planning/modelling/engineering
* Minimum Bachelors' degree in a relevant engineering discipline; a Masters' in Transport Planning and Engineer would be advantageous
* Membership (or working towards) of a relevant, recognised professional institution would be a distinct advantage
* Proficient in MS Office namely Excel, Powerpoint, Word
* Sidra, Synchro, VISSIM HCS, VISUM desirable
* Experience in making sound judgements on complex and sensitive issues.
* Successful task management experience
* Experience in working in a team environment
* An understanding of our key clients and their needs
* A team player with the ability to be flexible in their skill development and working relationships
* Innovative thinker and effective problem solver
* Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; Arabic speaker (not essential)
