Job description / Role
The Group Consolidation Manager's objective is to ensure accurate and timely closing of accounts and to provide relevant reports and analyses of the Group's financials.

Description
Financial Accounting
- Ensure timely submission of monthly financial accounts for individual companies, reviewing the completeness and accuracy of data reported by affiliates.
- Prepare and submit consolidated monthly statutory financial statements in line with German GAAP.
- Establish and maintain a robust internal control environment for consolidated accounts, supporting documentation, and audit trails.
- Maintain open communication with subsidiaries, providing guidance on specific and complex accounting matters.
- Analyze financial accounts to deliver clear and relevant information on significant changes and variances to management.
- Prepare the annual group consolidated financial statements and related financial reports as required by German GAAP.
- Lead the statutory audit process, managing relationships with group and component auditors, coordinating audit planning, execution, and preparation of required documentation.
- Continuously evaluate and maintain an effective internal control system, updating corporate finance policies and procedures as necessary.
- Train and guide subsidiary controllers on quarterly analytical reviews and year-end reporting templates.
Management Accounting
- Produce and deliver consolidated management accounts and forecasts monthly, providing timely and accurate analyses.
- Perform detailed analytical reviews of management fees, income streams, and expenses.
- Coordinate and prepare the group budget and oversee its consolidation.
- Oversee the maintenance and standardization of the chart of accounts to ensure compatibility with the analytics environment.
- Support the ongoing development of the analytics database and collaborate with suppliers to align with business needs.
- Drive the consolidation system upgrade by collaborating with Finance and IT to identify needs, evaluate functionalities, define project scope, and manage project timelines and activities.
Other
- Manage and develop the team through regular meetings and workshops on key topics like audit preparation, year-end review, and updates.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on finance topics for corporate communications.
- Pursue professional education to stay updated on accounting developments and apply them as appropriate.
- Oversee or prepare presentations for board meetings.
- Participate in the Infor system upgrade project.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on business and company needs.

Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance & Accounting or an Accounting diploma.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Work Experience:
- Over 3 years of proven experience in consolidating group statutory accounts in a fast-paced, dynamic, and international environment.
- Background in a Big Four firm or similar position with exposure to multinational companies and a deep understanding of consolidation accounting processes.
- Strong knowledge of German GAAP preferred.
- Solid grasp of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
- Experience in the hospitality or service industry is an advantage.
Languages:
- Ability to work and communicate effectively in a multinational setting:
- English - excellent verbal and written skills.
- German language skills are a significant asset.
