The Group IT Business Systems Manager will have overall responsibility for the planning, management control, operational performance and changes to 'group wide' business systems and related applications architecture. The role will also take responsibility for the development, maintenance, documentation, distribution and auditing of the organisations application technology standards.

Description
* Ensure that appropriate support is in place for the organisations business systems including disaster recovery procedures.
* Establish application service performance and benchmark metrics as part of regular system performance reviews.
* Create and embed strict application maintenance, change control and monitoring procedures for the organisations business systems
* Ensure that the business systems deployed within the organisation deliver the service required for optimal return on investment.
* Evaluate IT application investment proposals and provide recommendations for Group Head of IT and board approval.
* Help create and ensure consistency with the Group Technology Standards working closely with the IT Operations & Security team.
* Act as a project manager for small to medium sized business system projects.
* Ensure that day to day activities for the Business Systems team are planned and managed in line with day to day priorities, balancing project and operational requirements.
* Keep abreast of current technologies/innovations and identify where such technologies could be beneficial to improve company performance.
* Ensure a corporate suite of policies and procedures and technology standards are developed, maintained, deployed and audited, in line with HQ and local business unit requirements.
* Negotiate and manage 3rd party technology contracts in respect of service, software.
* Establish and administer the Global Change Advisory Board (CAB) who will be responsible for the ongoing change and evolution of the organisations business systems.
* Ensure that company interests are protected at all times during the execution of such contracts.
* Work with the Group IT Operations & Security Architect to ensure that the organisations business systems are developed and managed on-going, in line with IT strategy and operational plans.
* Ensure that the organisations IT resources and support services are resourced and skilled to develop, maintain, support and administer new and developing business systems.
* Ensure that the suite of existing and future proposed global business systems (ERP, CRM, IT Service, Business Intelligence, Document Management, Intranet and integrated Communications) are fully deployed, supported and well communicated within the business.

Requirements

* Experience of managing teams, system implementations and IT support within a full software lifecycle solution.
* Demonstrable understanding of the importance of change management within a busy development and support environment.
* Experience in the deployment, management and support of CRM, ERP, Intranets, websites and business analytical tools.
* Excellent resource management skills.
* Strong communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate to all business and IT stakeholders.
* A high level of sensitivity to and skill with competencies focused on team working and the repeatable delivery of results in pressured environments.
* Ability to solve practical business and IT related problems where only limited standardisation exists.
* Identify and assess new technologies and where appropriate recommend the benefits of those to senior management.
* Use professional discretion to select the best solution to technical problems.
* Work with management teams globally to communicate and drive technology standards, projects and initiatives
* Work with external vendors on solution design, issue resolution and delivery of professional services
