The Academic Administration Department is the hub of academic administrative activities at the University Dubai Campus. AAO is a multi-faceted office which consists of Registry Services, School Administration, Student Services and the Secretarial support to Academic Heads. It caters to the academic administrative requirements of the faculty and the students. It consists of two sections the Academic Administration Office (AAO) and the Dubai Student Services (DSSC).

The post holder is responsible for managing the various functions of the Department and ensuring that the services are in line with the University’s regulations and ordinances. He/ She should ensure that the Department is delivering a customer focused service to both the faculty and students to ensure that their academic administrative requirements are catered to in a professional manner. Leading a large team of staff, who would be operating the day to day activities of the Department, the post holder would be responsible for their professional development and training. The post holder would be required to develop and maintain a strong relationship with the key departments at the University Edinburgh Campus.

The key responsibility of the role includes:
- Providing directional leadership and management of the Department
- Advising the management of the University of the issues related to the Department and ways to enhance the Department
- Managing the Registry Services in line with the requirements of the Academic Registry regulations and organize major events like graduation, enrollment, examinations, etc
- Managing School Administration team and the secretaries to the Academic Heads according to the individual School requirements.
- Providing professional and customer oriented service at the DSSC
- Keeping abreast with the University policies and regulations and implementing changes
- Problem solving would be one of the key requirements of this post as the Department caters to almost 4000 students and 100 faculties on a varied set of requirements.
- Managing the Student Database in accordance with the KHDA and the University regulations
- To identify issues that are pertinent to UAE and affecting the delivery of the home campus regulations
- To lead and manage a large team of staff doing multiple functions. To develop the skills and competencies of all team members to deliver the various services of the Department
- To produce statistical data and reports for the senior management.-

- Undergraduate degree or evidence of equivalent capability through career achievement
- Understanding of western Higher Education system
- Working in a management role in higher education
