Established and successful Design and Engineering multi-disciplinary are looking for the Head of Accounts for their whole business.

Reporting into the CFO, this individual will be accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and international financial reporting standards.

Principal Accountabilities:

Management
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organisational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
- Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.

Transactions
- Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner in line with the established cash management plan
- Ensure follow-up on accounts receivable for timely collection
- Ensure payroll is processed in a timely manner
- Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
- Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
- Maintain the chart of accounts
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions

Reporting
- Issue timely and complete financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics, along with recommending benchmarks against which to measure the financial performance of company operations
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
- Provide for a system of management cost reporting
- Provide financial analyses as needed.

Compliance
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
- Comply with local government reporting and reporting to ISAB/IFRS requirements and tax filings

Requirements

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent business experience, and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major multi regional company. The candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience working within a professional services orientated organisation and preference will be given to a candidate with relevant experience gained in a senior accounts role for a multinational A&E services provider. Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations.

Primarily in an office environment. Will be expected to travel as needed to company subsidiaries. Periodic weekend or evening work is expected. The candidate will be expected to develop and maintain the accounts function in line with the Company’s support service delivery model. This model desires staff placement throughout the Company’s geographies in order that support staff maintain: a) Function close to the point of delivery for local services; and, b) additional workload for central shared service group-wide functions where applicable.

This role is to be based in Dubai, however there will be travel into Kuwait and a initial stint to be worked out of Kuwait at the beginning of the role.
