Job description / Role
The Head of Agency will lead a team focused on CX, media planning, buying, execution and analysis across various channels. The ideal candidate has to be a highly strategic and data driven leader with a proven track record of driving successful media campaigns and building strong relationships with media partners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Media Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement innovative media strategies that align with client objectives and target audiences. Oversee the development of media plans across various channels (e.g., digital, traditional, social).
• Media Buying & Negotiation: Lead the media buying process, negotiating favorable rates and terms with media vendors. Optimize media spend to maximize reach and frequency.
• Campaign Execution & Management: Oversee the execution of media campaigns, ensuring seamless implementation and adherence to best practices. Monitor campaign performance and make necessary adjustments.
• CX & media Trends: Keeping up to date with the latest CX and media trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Performance Analysis & Reporting: Develop and maintain media performance reports, analyzing key metrics and providing insights to clients and internal teams. Identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the media operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.
• Media Partner Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with media vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring optimal partnerships.
• Budget Management: Oversee client budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing ROI.
• Client Growth Management: Collaborate with client services teams to understand client needs (unique business challenges, target audience and CX goals) and ensure media strategies align with their objectives. Play a key role in annual/quarterly business planning on current clients and lead new client pitches for prospective clients.
• Market Research & Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and emerging media channels. Conduct market research to identify opportunities for innovation.
• Delivering Value & Effectiveness: Consistently delivering measurable results and demonstrating the value of the agency's media & CX services.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in media strategy, planning and buying preferably in a media agency (based in the Middle East for a minimum of 4 years)
• Proven track record of successfully leading and managing media/strategy teams.
• Deep understanding of audience profiling, media channels, platforms, and technologies.
• Strong understanding of the customer journey across various industries and touchpoints
• Expertise in media planning and buying tools (e.g., Comscore, Nielsen, Google Ads).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong understanding of digital marketing and advertising principles.
• Experience with various agency management software and technologies.
• Strong financial acumen and budgeting experience.
