Job description / Role
WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff are looking for someone to lead the Middle East Property & Buildings Architecture team. The Architecture team is a key part of the business that provide support and expert advice to external architecture firms with regards to local code compliance, and authorities approvals, as well as coordinating the approvals process internally. The Architecture team requires effective leadership to allow individual members to perform effectively and to continue to provide a high value service to our clients.
The key objectives of the role are to;
• lead the Architecture team consisting of 25 no site and office based professionals
• manage all of the commercial aspects of the Architectural team such as P&L, forecasting and fee proposals
• oversee the preparation of bids
• provide technical oversight across multiple projects, providing prompt support and expert advice to members of the Architectural team
• manage the authorities approvals process across multiple projects
• be responsible for the day to day management of the Architectural team
How will know when you are successful in this role?
• The Architecture team is being led effectively with individual members feeling supported and empowered to do their jobs to the best of their abilities
• Day to day operation of the Architecture team is being successfully managed
• Project issues are resolved quickly and effectively
• Clients and others within the business consider you as a trusted advisor in architectural and authorities approvals matters
• All commercial aspects of the Architecture team are being managed successfully
Requirements
• Degree educated, fully qualified Architect with over 10 years Architecture experience
• throughout your career you will have worked on large, complex projects throughout the whole project lifecycle
• have experience working on large, mixed use, retail and residential projects in the Middle East
• have previous experience working directly for multidisciplinary architectural and/or engineering consultants
• have experience with the commercial management of a business unit
• fully familiar with regulations and codes in the UAE
• understand the approvals process in Dubai and other Emirates
• a people person, able to lead a team, and build excellent client relations through great communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills
• confident presenting to all stakeholders including contractors and clients
• comfortable using initiative and working independently
