Job description / Role
A Head of Credit Wealth Management role has recently become available for a well established bank in Dubai. This role will be mainly focusing and establishing the Credit Risk Management activities of regional wealth management department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Managing credit portfolio of wealth management/private banking; appraisal, assessment & control of credit exposures.
Appraising and recommending credit proposal beyond delegated lending authority to Management Credit Committee or Board Credit & Investment Committee.
Approving independently PB facility applications and also excesses within delegated lending authority.
Ensure that lending proposals are in compliance with Bank's credit policy and also in compliance with UAE Central Bank's regulatory norms.
Control, monitor and follow-up credits via review of irregular and past due accounts, pending documentation and overdue renewal accounts.
Interacting with business managers up to the level of Head of WM and also with Internal/External Auditors, Central Bank Inspectors, Consultants on various credit and allied issues.
Requirements
Qualifications:
15 years experience in credit within the banking industry (UAE experience).
Master's Degree and Bachelor's Degree in Finance. Qualified CA/CFA/CPA.
Strong knowledge of banking products, services and credit systems.
Ability to undertake and identify risk in credit proposals with specialist knowledge and skills required for providing expert advice at a policy and strategic level.
Good understanding of the policies, regulations, procedures and can provide guidance and clarification to those involved in implementation.
