Head of Enforcement - UAE National

Cooper Fitch has been appointed by the UAE Federal Tax Authority as one of their recruitment and Human Capital partners for the VAT introduction in the United Arab Emirates and is recruiting for a Head of Enforcement.

The Federal Tax Authority is recruiting for a Head of Enforcement who will organise and lead enforcement activities as well as develop enforcement and collection strategies.

Key responsibilities include:
- Define, implement and manage the enforcement of the operational plan.
- Oversee business performance of the enforcement section.
- Coordinate with various internal stakeholders in order to develop collection and enforcement and risk management strategies.
- Monitor tax collection systems.
- Administer enforcement measures to be applied in order to collect debt.
- Initiate legal action when necessary in order to enforce payment.
- Oversee cases of insolvent taxable persons.
- Liaise with Tax Policy experts to determine procedures for preparation of atypical collections.
- Direct tax collection activities as well as penalty and surcharge payments from taxable persons.
- Manager overpayments, underpayments and repayments.
- Advise internal stakeholders on tax collection programs.
- Report tax collection and enforcement activities.
- Manage the section from the perspectives of effective staffing and training.

Requirements

- 8 years experience in an enforcement function
- 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role
- Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field
- Preferred Master’s Degree and relevant qualification such as CPA or CTA
