Head of Internal Audit - UAE National

Job description / Role

As the Head of Internal Audit you will drive oversight, risk management, and governance across all business functions. This leadership position reports directly to the Audit Committee and is responsible for building, developing, and executing the internal audit function in line with regulatory and strategic business needs.

Description

* Develop and implement a risk-based internal audit strategy and annual audit plan.
* Lead, manage, and mentor the internal audit team.
* Provide independent assurance on the effectiveness of risk management, governance, and internal controls.
* Conduct audits across operational, financial, compliance, and IT functions.
* Present findings and recommendations to senior management and the Audit Committee.
* Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
* Ensure compliance with local and international auditing standards (e.g., IIA, IFRS).
* Continuously assess and improve audit methodologies and tools.

* UAE National with Family Book (Emirati).
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
* CIA, CPA, or CA certification highly desirable.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in internal audit, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
* Strong knowledge of enterprise risk management and internal control frameworks.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience in regulated sectors is a plus.
