The Arab Monetary Fund aims to onboard a Senior Data Scientist in the Capacity Development and Innovation Department, reporting to the Knowledge and Innovation Division Chief.

Job purpose

The Senior Data Scientist will manage, enhance, and align database management practices with international standards and ensure the reliability of the Arab Monetary Fundu2019s economic database and the Arab Financial Markets database. In addition, the role involves applying advanced statistical methodologies to analyze data, facilitate results interpretation, and develop actionable insights to support the Arab Monetary Fund's flagship reports, studies, and other publications. The position also facilitates decision-making processes and supports key organizational activities through sophisticated data analysis and interpretation.

Key accountability areas and activities

The key activities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Understand plans, drawings, technical specifications, and in-depth database parameters.
• Align databases with the AMF's strategic objectives and ensure that their designs meet organizational and member countriesu2019 needs.
• Apply advanced statistical analysis methods to interpret complex data sets and translate raw data into actionable insights and recommendations to support decision-making and reporting.
• Interpret raw data and transform it into actionable insights, feedback, and applications that support decision-making and inform the organization's publications and activities.
• Use big data, machine learning, and other techniques to improve data availability and analysis.
• Manipulate non-relational databases to extract key economic and financial developments.
• Provide accurate and relevant data analyses to assist in the development of reports, studies, bulletins, and other publications.
• Ensure data integrity and relevance in all published materials.
• Automate data transformation and manipulation to expedite processes.
• Recommend improvements to data processes and systems to enhance functionality and support organizational objectives based on best practices and the latest technologies and techniques in statistical analysis and database management.
• Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, provide feedback, and deliver data-driven insights.
• Contribute to internal and external training effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications and requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in database management, particularly in statistical or financial sectors.
• Bacheloru2019s degree in business administration, finance, economics, investment management, or a related field.
• Masteru2019s degree in statistics, data science, or a related field in database management or statistics.
• Excellent communication and writing skills in Arabic and English. French, as a third language, is a solid advantage.
