Job description / Role

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This operational function addresses following responsibilities:

- Provide IT infrastructures and Applications and support for Middle-East local activities
- Local deployment of Group IS tools & processes in accordance with the needs of operational activities in the region and in coordination with Corporate functions,
- Increase IS/IT competences through the development of skills and training of people
- Establish and monitor IS/IT performance indicators
- Implement IS/IT improvement initiatives to capitalize on lessons learnt and best practices.

Technical knowledge:

- IT infrastructure with 900 users set-up in 7 countries of Middle East
- Main applications dedicated to management (Windows, Outlook), finance (SAP BD) and Engineering (Doors, Palma, Catia)
- Connections with Off-shore countries within the Group (Europe, Canada)
- Thales premises in ME are mainly in offices and site offices for Projects, some of them being with our customers

Management of the team (15p) located on the main sites of Thales ME

Main focus of the function:

- Support users on a daily basis
- Warranty the security of our network, our data and monitor the global performance
- Implement, up-date and train users for any new application to implement
- With the support of the Procurement team, supply Laptops and any equipment requested on site after validation process
- Analyze and propose solutions following any issue within the network or application
- Manage the annual cost of IT&S and propose actions to secure budgets when necessary
- Manage the MYB process in cooperation with DGDI/IT manager
- Keep a close contact with the teams on sites (Qatar, Oman, UAE, Bahrain) in order to anticipate any risk concerning the performance of the system

Requirements

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

- At least 10 years relevant experience
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication abilities
- Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
- Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
- Experience in controlling information technology budget

QUALIFICATION, CERTIFICATION & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

- BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus
