Job Overview

As a Head of Liv Governance at Emirates NBD, your role is to support the Group Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management Governance to maintain the properness of Liv, ensuring it operates within legal and ethical boundaries while providing best in class service to its digital clientele. The job holder is also responsible to ensure alignment of the Liv business and support teams to the overall framework of RBWM. Head of Liv Governance ensures that risks associated with Liv are managed well and in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Due Diligence: Overseeing the process of conducting comprehensive due diligence on Liv clients, including anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) procedures.
• Governance Reporting: Providing regular reports to senior management on governance-related matters.
• Risk Management: Identifying, assessing, and mitigating digital and regulatory risks associated with Liv.
• Audit Management: Coordinating with internal and external auditors to ensure audits are conducted efficiently, and findings are addressed appropriately.
• Regulatory and Legal Awareness: Staying updated on changes in banking laws and regulations, with a focus on those impacting digital banking.
• Support Liv Business Strategy: Aligning governance practices with the unique needs and expectations of the digital banking environment.
• Policy Review & Update: Reviewing Liv policies and procedures in close coordination with Group Compliance, GOPS & Group Risk to ensure agreement with industry regulations and best practices.
• Team Leadership and Development: Managing a team responsible for various aspects of governance within Liv.
• Ethical Standards and Conduct: Supporting RBWM management in promoting a culture of ethical behavior and integrity.

Skills and Experience

• Graduate with understanding of business, local regulations, and current developments.
• A minimum of 13 plus years professional experience in banking with experience in digital banking, operations, compliance.
• At least 6-7 years of experience in a relevant digital banking governance/compliance management position required.
• Conversant with full range of banking products and services.
• Desirable qualifications from an internationally recognized body such as ACAMS.
• Good knowledge of policy, procedures, standards, local and international regulations, and legislation related to the prevention of money laundering.
• Ability to lead the unit.
