Currently, we are in search of a dynamic and passionate Head of Netball Coach and/or PE Teacher to join our highly accomplished secondary department. We invite applications from both qualified PE teachers as well as sports coaches for this particular role.
Role overview
The Head of Netball is responsible for leading, developing, and delivering an outstanding netball programme across Safa Community School. As the school’s largest girls’ sport, the role requires strategic vision, exceptional leadership, and a strong presence across all phases. The successful candidate will ensure high-quality coaching, consistent standards, and outstanding competitive opportunities from KS1 through to U19 performance pathways.
Key responsibilities
Strategic leadership & programme development
- Create and oversee a clear, progressive netball pathway from KS1 to the Senior U19 squad.
- Drive the development of netball to establish SCS as a leading school for the sport in the Middle East.
- Lead the planning and delivery of netball competitions, festivals, and tournaments hosted at SCS.
Coaching excellence & ECA provision
- Act as a strong, visible leader across the Primary and Secondary Netball ECA schedules.
- Ensure consistent standards, high-quality delivery, and aligned coaching methods across all age groups.
- Support staff and coaches in delivering age-appropriate and engaging netball sessions.
Competitive opportunities
- Provide a broad and challenging competitive calendar for students, including DASSA, DSG, Dubai 7s, BSME, WSG, and additional fixtures.
- Organise and lead annual international netball tours and trips.
Performance pathway development
- Play a central role in nurturing Performance Squad athletes through focused training and high-performance standards.
- Work closely with the Strength & Conditioning Lead to support athlete development and progression.
Stakeholder engagement & communication
- Maintain clear, professional communication with all stakeholders, including DOS, HoPE, SLT, staff, parent body, and students.
- Build strong relationships within the school community to enhance engagement, participation, and programme reputation.
Person profile
- Experienced netball coach with a proven track record of leading successful programmes.
- Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Passionate about developing young athletes across all age groups.
- Ability to inspire teams, build community, and elevate standards.
- Applications welcome from both qualified PE teachers as well as netball coaches for this particular role.
