Employment: Full Time

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of P&C Line of Business is a key advisor on the strategy, focus, and performance of the P&C segment, with strong focus on Marine and Aviation. This role is responsible for driving the strategic direction, customer experience, and financial performance of the P&C portfolio, balancing growth with profitability.

The Head of P&C will oversee the Commercial/Sales, Underwriting, and Pricing functions within the ALFIT framework, ensuring all P&C line of business is aligned with overall business objectives. This role is crucial to the company’s senior leadership team and directly contributes to the growth and profitability of the organization.

In addition to managing the P&C businesses, the Head of P&C will represent ALFIT within the broader industry sector, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, industry bodies, and competitors. Staying informed on market developments and regulatory changes is essential to maintaining a competitive edge and ensuring the business remains at the forefront of the industry.

Strategy
• Develop and lead the implementation of the strategic plan for the P&C LoB’s, ensuring alignment with ALFIT’s overall corporate objectives and long-term business goals.
• Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify growth opportunities, competitive advantages, and emerging trends within the different P&C Line of Business insurance industry.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform data-driven strategic decisions and ensure ALFIT maintains a competitive edge.
• Design and implement a robust underwriting and pricing framework that ensures clear segregation of duties, promotes innovation, and strengthens the company’s market positioning.
• Foster a culture of ethical behavior within the team and across all commercial activities, ensuring decisions align with company values and regulatory standards.

Leadership
• Lead by example as part of ALFIT’s Senior Management team, embodying company values and representing ALFIT effectively within the P&C insurance industry.
• Mentor, develop, and inspire a high-performing team across Commercial/Sales, Underwriting, and Pricing, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Create a collaborative and innovative work environment by promoting cross-functional teamwork and encouraging creative problem-solving.
• Ensure effective communication and alignment within the team and with other departments to drive shared goals and operational efficiency.

Commercial
• Drive sales and business development initiatives to identify new growth opportunities, achieve revenue targets, and expand the company’s market share.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to support business objectives and foster long-term partnerships.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention by leveraging customer feedback to continuously improve service offerings and address client needs.

Pricing/Underwriting
• Oversee the development and implementation of pricing strategies that balance short-term competitiveness with long-term profitability.
• Manage underwriting processes to ensure risks are appropriately assessed, mitigated, and continuously improved.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, while proactively adapting to evolving market and regulatory conditions.
• Drive sustainable, healthy growth within the P&C LoB’s by balancing risk management with profitable business opportunities.

Stakeholder Management & Market Research
• Effectively manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring proactive communication and collaboration with regulatory bodies, industry associations, clients, and other key external parties.
• Stay informed on market dynamics, including emerging risks, regulatory changes, and industry trends, to position ALFIT at the forefront of the P&C insurance sector.
• Conduct ongoing market research to identify emerging risks and opportunities, ensuring the Health LoB adapts to changes that could impact its strategic direction and competitive positioning.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior management role within the insurance industry in relevant roles, with a focus on Commercial/Sales, Underwriting, and Pricing.
• Experience in working at C-Level
• Experience in Health Insurance/Reinsurance industry or equivalent

Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills:
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent strategic planning and execution capabilities.
• Financial acumen and experience with budget management.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with fluency in English is a must; Arabic is an advantage
• Ability to analyze market trends and adapt strategies accordingly.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong negotiation skills and intercultural competence
• Coaching, mentoring and training skills
