Head of Product Development

Job description / Role

The Head of Product Development is responsible for developing, implementing and managing of the project.

The Project should provide a differentiated competitive edge to secondary school students and university under-graduates by delivering internationally accredited skills through a user-friendly, cost effective, blended learning delivery model.

The manager will be responsible for prototype creation and testing for the next phases of the project, as well as completing the development of the product, acceptance testing and launches across the various regions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Identify, acquire, groom and maintain a high quality workforce for the project working closely with the HR department
• Creation of the product architecture for the next phases of the Project
• Detail the Development Plan
• Drafting a business plan for the product including costs, pricing, broad launch timelines, etc.
• Decide on Certification Partners if needed
• Review the various technology platforms
• Launch the prototype, validate assumptions, and gather feedback on the prototype
• Design and develop Facilitator Training and Certification Program
• Launch the product
• Perform acceptance testing and summative evaluation of the product
• Ensure final product sign-off
• Continuously monitor and solicit feedback on all training programs and materials to ensure accuracy, relevance and effectiveness
• Maintain the highest level of professional and ethical standards
• Keep abreast of relevant legislation, rules, regulations, tools, procedures, technical specifications, and developments in the educational field
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Excellent verbal, written, and online communication skills in the English language
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work individually and work collaboratively in teams and the ability to maintain effective working relationships
• Excellent presentation skills – should be able to comfortable engage with senior management
• Clear understanding of Experiential learning
• General knowledge of adult learning strategies
• Demonstrated skills in e-learning content design and development
• Strong logical and analytical skills
• Proven operational abilities - Ability to handle multiple activities, projects, and priorities in a fast paced environment
• Ability to maintain confidential information
• Strong research skills
• Excellent general IT skills: MS Office applications, spreadsheets and databases.
• Proven experience successfully managing large and/or complex projects
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and with little to no supervision

Demonstrated experience in software and tools used for eLearning development, such as Adobe Suite as well as knowledge of Flash, HTML5, JavaScript code and use web application programming, XHTML programming, and other appropriate development languages and technologies.
