Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We currently seek a professional to take on a senior leadership position as the Head of Rail and Transit in the Middle East (ME). By joining WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff you will be exposed to the full breadth of our Middle East business, helping to deliver the same high standard of comprehensive and integrated infrastructure design and supervision services.

The Head of Rail and Transit is accountable for contributing to the strategic leadership, operational performance, technical and people leadership of their team and discipline projects in the Middle East. The role holder will also be responsible for the Project Director (PD) role for selected multi and single disciplinary projects, and is expected take a ‘hands on’ approach to all aspects of the role.

Business Leadership:
- Provide leadership and support for the business unit across the ME Region
- Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies
- Contribute to the delivery of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff’s overall business budgets and forecasts
- Setting and delivering profit & loss business unit budget and forecasts

Business Development:
- Lead or support selected region, country or sector to support the business in keeping up to date on the market status and maximising opportunities for WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff
- Proactively support business development activities through participation in external market profile raising activities and functions
- Actively develop external and internal client relationships and proactively co-sell other WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff services and where applicable the wider business

Project Leadership:
- To act as project director on selected projects by leading and managing the successful delivery of high quality multi and single disciplinary projects
- Ensure proactive project planning, stakeholder and risk management takes place across projects
- Support the team to identify, assess and manage major project risk and secure the best commercial return from the projects in their portfolio
- Accountable for the completion of monthly management project reports to be issued by set deadline

Technical:
- Keep up to date with industry developments with respect to own discipline, other disciplines and engineering innovations and developments on a global scale
- Contribute to and lead technical solutions on projects
- Drive innovation and utilise technological advancement

Requirements

We would like to speak with positive, people focused individuals who are proactive and results-driven, and have excellent client facing skills. You’ll have a bachelor’s degree in either Civil or Structural Engineering; ideally you’ll be Chartered, and have 15 years’ experience working for an international consultancy. You’ll have experience in design and construction, and have successfully lead numerous complex, large scale programmes of work across a range of clients and multi-disciplined teams.
