As the head of smart and digital, you will lead the strategic development and delivery of digital and smart solutions across WSP's multidisciplinary projects in the UAE. You will be responsible for driving innovation, digital transformation, and smart technology integration within the specialist services department, ensuring alignment with client needs and WSP's global digital strategy.

Responsibilities

Strategic leadership:

Define and execute the digital and smart services strategy for the UAE region.

Align digital initiatives with WSP's global and regional business goals.

Represent WSP in industry forums, client engagements and strategic partnerships.

Innovation & digital transformation:

Lead the development and implementation of smart city, IoT, AI and data-driven solutions.

Identify and stay up to date on emerging technologies and assess their applicability to client challenges.

Drive innovation in project delivery.

Project delivery & technical excellence:

Oversee the delivery of digital and smart design in the built environment throughout the project lifecycle.

Develop the team way of working to enhance efficiency and drive innovation in the project delivery model.

Ensure quality, innovation and compliance with industry standards.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to smart and digital consultants and engineers.

Client engagement & business development:

Lead business development efforts through establishing relationships with key clients and being at the forefront of the digital and smart development and opportunities in the built environment.

Support business development efforts through proposals, presentations and thought leadership.

Identify opportunities for smart and digital design service offerings.

Team leadership:

Build and lead a high-performing team of digital and smart specialists.

Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous learning.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, computer science, smart cities or related field.

12+ years of experience in digital transformation, smart infrastructure or technology consulting.

Proven leadership in delivering smart and digital solutions in the built environment.

Strong understanding of technologies such as IoT, AI, BIM, GIS, and digital twins.

Relationship and understanding of the Big Tech industry.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Experience working in the Middle East is highly desirable.
