Head of Supply Chain

Job description / Role

Volantes Technical Recruitment are seeking a head of Supply Chain for a new state of the art Aviation MRO in Dubai.

Job Purpose:

The HOD Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing and managing all supply chain activities. This includes procurement, logistics, inventory/ warehouse management, import/ export control and developing and implementing a supply chain strategy that supports the clients objectives and goals. Ensures total compliance with relevant regulatory requirements as detailed within the MOE.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning
• Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
• Identify and analyze supply chain risks and opportunities.
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of supply chain activities with overall business goals.

Procurement
• Supplier Management: Develop and manage a robust supplier network.
• Sourcing Strategy: Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
• Contract Negotiation: Negotiate favorable contracts with suppliers.
• Supplier Performance Management: Monitor supplier performance and take corrective action as needed.
• Cost Reduction: Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.

Logistics
• Logistics Strategy: Develop and implement a logistics strategy to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods.
• Transportation Management: Manage inbound and outbound transportation, including carrier selection and negotiation.
• Inventory Management: Optimize inventory levels to minimize costs and avoid stockouts.
• Warehousing and Distribution: Oversee warehousing and distribution operations.
• Customs and Import/Export: Ensure compliance with customs regulations and import/export procedures.

Supply Chain Optimization
• Process Improvement: Continuously improve supply chain processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Technology Implementation: Leverage technology to improve supply chain visibility and performance.
• Sustainability: Integrate sustainability principles into supply chain operations.

Team Leadership
• Team Management: Lead and develop a high-performing supply chain team.
• Talent Development: Recruit, hire, and train talented individuals.
• Performance Management: Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in procurement and logistics management.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles and practices.
• Experience in the aviation industry is preferred.
• Proven track record in leading and managing teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools and systems.
