Job description / Role
The Head of Supply Chain will be responsible for maximising supply chain efficiency and effectiveness in meeting the demands of a rapidly growing manufacturing and global distribution operation. The successful candidate will execute strategic programs in international and domestic sourcing, distribution and warehousing. They will have expertise in negotiating supplier contracts, creating and analysing bids and making recommendations as to how to grow and improve the business through strategic sourcing across all aspects of the supply chain.
Key responsibilities:
- Overseeing end-to-end Supply Chain processes in a both domestic and international environments
- Developing procurement strategies to maximise commercial value and ensure materials & finished good meet required quality standards
- Design and implement any required risk management or hedging mechanism to ensure raw material purchases do not expose the company to market volatility
- Developing correct forecasting and inventory management strategies to optimise performance
- Develop and implement sales & operations planning process
- Co-ordinate all logistics including ocean freight, inland transportation and domestic fleet operations
- Lead negotiation efforts for major contracts
- Drive down the supply chain cost
- Managing and developing a team of Supply Chain professionals
- Develop and manage departmental budgets accordingly
- Establishes annual goals and objectives, (including stretch targets) in coordination with corporate objectives
Requirements
- At least 10 years experience in supply chain management
- At least 5 years experience in working for an international company with subsidiaries in different countries/geographies
- High level of inter-personal, analytical and communication skills
- Ability to think laterally and adapt to changing circumstances in a dynamic environment
