Hostess

Job description / Role

The Hostess is responsible for welcoming and seating the guests. She works closely with the reservations manager and assists him/her in some of his/her daily tasks.

Duties and responsibilities:
- The Hostess has to check that any guest coming in is directly taken care of and welcomed as soon as arrived.
- To offer a personalized service it is best to call a guest by his name and therefore a memorization of the guest’s names is necessary.
- She makes sure, before the service, that the welcoming area is set and clean and that her table plan is done and has been applied correctly by Servers and the Servers are informed about the name of the reservation and minimum spend.
- She has to know the floor plan perfectly.
- Hostesses are responsible for training and assisting new Hostesses.
- Ensure that personal grooming and uniform is to the required standards.
- Promotes image of the outlet by displaying impeccable manners, diplomacy and tact towards our outlet, guests and the management.
- Guest satisfaction is one of the main goals!
- She informs the reservations manager in any case of maintenance problem or malfunction.
- Responsible for filling table reports in the end of operation.
- Attends briefings, training sessions and weekly meetings.
- She deals with complaints or special requests and reports it to the management even if the problem is fixed.
