Hotel Overview:

Fairmont Palm Jumeirah is a world-class property on the iconic Palm Island in Dubai. The hotel will feature 381 guest rooms and suites with two Fairmont Gold floors. A total of eight food and beverage outlets on property will offer international dining options including Szechwan cuisine, a Brazilian steak house plus separate cigar and beverage bars. The property will be positioned as a Luxury Hotel joining other internationally branded hotels on the 'island', which will generate tremendous anticipation both in the UAE and worldwide. In addition, the high regard that the Fairmont brand is afforded in the region will result in very high expectations for flawless service delivery from day-one.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Supervisor, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

- Overall cleaning of the guestrooms to include, but not limited to: dusting, making beds, soiled linen removal from rooms, retrieval of clean linen from linen closets, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, inside window cleaning, replenish rooms with supplies, etc, as per Fairmont standards.
- Attends pre-shift briefings and handover to Supervisor at end of shift.
- Responsible for signing in and out master keys daily.
- Maintain proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Take accurate room status reports at the end of the shift.
- Keep linen closets, supply closet and landing organized and clean.
- Empty vacuum cleaner each time it is nearly full.
- Reports any problems or questions to Supervisor assigned to your floor.
- Offer assistance to guest and colleagues in a courteous manner.
- Use hands to lift, carry, or pull objects that may be heavy.
- Understand simple instructions, learn simple procedures and techniques.
- Perform routine work or the same task daily.
- To use the cleaning in progress sign and keep the doors closed at all times, when making up rooms.
- To call room service for removal of trays/trolleys.
- To report instantly and turn over to security any lost and found items.
- To be responsible for reporting any rooms which do not require service, DND, not slept in on assigned floor.
- To report to Floor Housekeeper any mattress protector, blankets, bedspreads, valances in need of change.
- To report any equipment malfunctioning.
- To report any suspicious persons to Housekeeping office or security.
- To report anything which may be a Health & Safety hazard
- Maintain excellent grooming and uniform standards.
- Read, Understand and follow all department policies.
- Attend pre-shift briefing on each shift.

Evening Turn Down shift

- Responsible to pick-up at the start of shift all linen necessary for turndown work (Bedside mats/Bath and Hand towels/Facecloths).
- Overall tidying of occupied guestrooms to include, but not limited to: dusting, arranging guest belongings neatly, turndown beds, remove soiled linen, retrieve clean linen from linen closets, vacuuming if required, bathroom cleaning if required, replenish rooms with supplies, etc, as per Fairmont standards.
- Update and mark all turned down rooms on their assignment paper.
- Ability to turndown set number of room per shift.

Public Areas

- Overall cleaning of the public areas for guests and back of house areas, as per Fairmont cleaning standards.
- Maintain proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Carry out daily cleaning tasks, along with deep cleaning tasks as per schedule.
- Keep public area pantries/ supply pantries organized and clean at all times.


- Lifting requirements up to 25 lbs.
- Carrying of objects weighting up to 50lbs
- Stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, bending, twisting, pushing, seeing, hearing, speaking to Guests



- High School diploma, vocational training and/or 1 year work experience.
- Fluent in English (written & verbal) essential.
- Basic understanding of a second language, desirable - particularly Arabic.
- Previous experience in luxury hotel environment desirable but not essential
- Friendly and pleasant disposition with people interaction skills.
- Highly level of personal cleanliness and grooming.
