Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

For this position you will ensure the implementation and managing the compliance of industry relevant safety standards and programs relative to safe work practices in all areas of the business. You will report all safety and environment related concerns to the General Manager, keeps records of incidents, follows up on corrective action and conducts audits in line with OHSAS 18001/Food Safety standards and other relevant HSE standards. You will further lead and direct the group of HSE teams across all leisure facilities, setting the department guidelines and coaches and develop the team members.

Job Scope:
• Direct, formulate, develop and monitor the implementation of health, safety and environmental policies, systems, procedures and standards for existing activities and new processes within across all leisure facilities in order to ensure effective risk management.
• Coordinate with, and lead a team of HSE professionals across all leisure facilities to ensure consistency, development and harmonization of safety and environmental standards within the Farah Experiences operation.
• Drive the importance of an environmental stewardship culture in every colleague working at all leisure facilities.
• Establish and maintain procedures for the reporting, investigation, recording and analysis of injury accidents, dangerous occurrences, health, safety and environmental incidents and work related ill health.
• Investigate health, safety, environmental and food hygiene related complaints and ensure that such complaints are concluded to a practicable standard.
• Oversee food safety across the organization to ensure that the requisite legislative and best practice standards are established and maintained.
• Act as HACCP Team Leader.
• Farah Experiences leader in environmental compliance, including the support of energy preservation efforts across the facilities, recycling initiatives and waste management.
• Liaise with external auditors in relation to food safety and operational and HSE audits.
• Develop and maintain an effective risk assessment strategy/culture and through auditing ensure that all risk assessments are of suitable and sufficient standard.
• Working with the Security Department to ensure the effective crisis management such as fire prevention etc. across all facilities.
• Conduct internal safety and environmental audits to monitor safety performance against prescribed standards and to provide feedback to management as appropriate.
• Establish organizational systems and risk control methods relating to hardware and human performance by advising line management on matters such as legal and technical standards.
• Develop and implement cost effective safety management/accident prevention strategies to control direct and indirect costs arising from work related accidents and ill health involving guests, employees and contractors.
• Investigate all safety and environmental related civil claims (i.e. personal injury claims) as required to support the Farah Legal Department.
• Ensure that effective safety and environmental planning includes realistic short and long term objectives. Where applicable, a cost benefit analysis approach should be used to determine priorities and establish performance standards.
• Liaise with Heads of Departments and the Training Department to identify safety training needs and ensure that safety training programmes undertaken reflect the needs of the business and the delegates involved.
• Proactively identify and drive safety and environmental related initiatives that will deliver excellent customer service across the business.
• Promote a positive health, safety and environmental culture by securing the effective communication and implementation of the group health and safety policy.
• Provide the management team with advice and regular status reports on safety and environmental issues and performance reviews.
• Provide competent advice to senior management with respect to general corporate risk management and business continuity planning and maintain the associated risk register accordingly.
• Devise a system of monitoring and communicating advice to Heads of Departments on future changes to health, safety and environmental management.
• Interpret and apply safety and environmental law pragmatically in the context of the organization and relevant industry standards.

Requirements

• Have a Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety
• Have 7+ years of HSE experience
• 5+ years of Theme Park experience
• Proven Leadership role within HSE

Experience in:
• Development of HSE policies and procedures and the implementation of Incident investigation
• Have experience in delivery of HSE training courses
• Data analysis for measurement of HSE performance
• HSE Auditing

Desirable:
• Master’s Degree in related field
• Environmental Management qualification
• Fire Management qualification
• Level 4 Food Safety qualification
• Experience in HSE policies and procedures relating to Theme Park ride operations

Candidate must be happy to relocate in Abu Dhabi.
