Title: <br>HSE Manager (Contingency Hire)<br><br>Manages and leads Health, Safety, and Environment ("HSE") initiatives and personnel in the Readiness and Sustainment Solutions Business Unit. Coordinates the delivery of HSE products and services to operations and shared services personnel, in support of business acquisition and execution. Interfaces and successfully negotiates with regulatory bodies, clients, and subcontractors. Responsible for executing the processes that directly impact training, report writing, quality control, plan development and implementation. Incorporates health standards directed by regulatory agencies to prevent hazards and diseases from work sites. Under general direction, is accountable for the performance and results of a related discipline or sub-group within a function. Manages the delivery of functional objectives by providing leadership and direction to team members. Participates in the development of functional strategy and may be responsible for global processes and procedures.<br><br>Desired Competencies: <br> - Strong and proven leadership skills<br> - Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to leverage relationships to fulfill organizational and project objectives<br> - Strong planning and data analytical skills<br> - Strong background in all aspects of Health, Safety, and Environmental<br> - Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams to accomplish complicated objectives<br> - Computer literacy<br> - Innovative skills<br><br>Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) and Competent Person <br><br>The Contractor shall provide a SSHO whose primary duty and responsibility is to prepare and enforce the Contractor's safety program. The SSHO shall meet the requirements of EM 385-1-1 Section 1 and ensure that the requirements of 29 CFR 1926.16 are met for Contract requirements.<br><br>The SSHO or an equally-qualified Designated Representative/alternate shall be on-site at all times when work is being performed to implement and administer the Contractor's safety program and government-accepted Accident Prevention Plan. The SSHO's training, experience, and qualifications shall be as required by EM 385-1-1 paragraph 01.A.17, entitled SITE SAFETY AND HEALTH OFFICER (SSHO), and all associated sub-paragraphs. Specifically, the SSHO shall have completed five years of satisfactory experience in preparing and enforcing safety programs on contracts of similar size and complexity in the past and have completed the OSHA 30-hour construction safety class or equivalent within the last five years and an average of at least 24 hours of safety training per year for the past five years.<br><br>Competent Person: per the EM385-1-1, one who can identify existing and predictable hazards in the working environment or working conditions that are dangerous to personnel and who has authorization to take prompt corrective measures to eliminate them. A Competent Person is normally defined within the hazard area such as Competent Person, Confined Space, a person with thorough knowledge of OSHA's Confined Space Standard, 29 CFR 1910.146, designated in writing by the employer to be responsible for the immediate supervision, implementation and monitoring of the confined space program, who through training, knowledge and experience in confined space entry is capable of identifying, evaluating and addressing existing and potential confined space hazards and, who has the authority to take prompt corrective measures with regard to such hazards.<br><br>In compliance with the U.S. federal government's vaccine mandate, only candidates who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have a reasonable accommodation or approved medical exception will be considered for this position.<br><br>KBR is an equal opportunity employer.
