HSE Officer

Job description / Role

We are seeking a dedicated HSE Officer to join our construction team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring a safe work environment by implementing health, safety, and environmental policies and protocols on site. This position is perfect for someone passionate about safety compliance and proactive risk management within the dynamic construction industry.

Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with local laws and company standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective measures are taken promptly.
- Provide training and guidance to construction teams on health, safety, and environmental best practices.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to safety audits, incidents, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and contractors to promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety regulations on-site.

- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience as an HSE Officer, preferably in the construction industry within the UAE.
- Strong knowledge of UAE health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse teams.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in enforcing safety standards.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), NEBOSH, or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
