We are looking for a skilled safety officer to join our Mira Construction team!

Work format: On-site (Project office, construction site)

Responsibilities:

• Implement HSE policy, HSE plan, HSE legislation, and other requirements; monitor HSE performance and HSE targets, and suggest measures for further improvement.
• Liaise with safety manager and contractors for the improvement and implementation of corporate HSE management practices.
• Monitor contractors to ensure the implementation of applicable safety measures and best practices.
• Review and monitor contractors' monthly HSE inspections and reports.
• Conduct monthly safety meetings, set targets to address outstanding issues, prepare and submit the minutes to all concerned for follow-up.
• Review emergency preparedness and response, permit to work system, HSE meetings, HSE statistics, and records of the contractors according to company requirements.
• Review incident and accident investigation reports from contractors, report and communicate learning points, and monitor immediate and follow-up actions to minimize or prevent re-occurrence.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements

• Minimum diploma or B.Sc. or equivalent degree in environmental/loss prevention or any relevant engineering disciplines from an accredited university.
• Recognized health and safety education; relevant safety training card (training in UAE will be a plus).
• At least 3+ years of construction supervision experience working as a safety officer.
• Recent experience in construction supervision.
• Preferably with experience in the UAE; having a driving license is an advantage.
