Human Resources Director, Middle East & Africa

Atkins is currently seeking a Human Resources Director to join our Regional business based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Reporting to the Senior Vice President Human Resources, Resources Sector and Middle East & Africa this position will be responsible for delivering the activities of the Human Resources function in the region which supports several business units. This individual works closely with business leaders and managers to ensure HR programs and services are in place to support and drive business objectives.

As a member of the Regional Senior Leadership Team the HR Director leverages services from the Centers of Excellence in areas such as the HR Shared Services, Talent Management & Learning, Global Mobility, and Compensation and Benefits. We are seeking an individual with a solid HR business partner background, demonstrated change management experience and has experience managing a broad range of human resources initiatives and programs. The appointed individual will demonstrate adaptability to cultural diversity and provide coaching and advices to key members of the leadership team.

Responsibilities

- Working within a matrix HR function, translate business strategies and objectives into the appropriate HR actions and initiatives;
- Coach business managers on issues of effective team building, employee relations and organizational effectiveness;
- Ensure proper implementation and execution of global HR programs and initiatives;
- Through a team of HR professionals, lead all employee relations issues while ensuring our culture and employee wellbeing are consistent with our corporate values;
- Foster a performance and talent development culture through leading all people related processes;
- Provide flexible and relevant people solutions to business issues and challenges while ensuring an engaged organisation;
- Manage a team of HR professionals across the region, the EDPM HR budget, and monitor all key HR performance indicators; and
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

- University degree or equivalent in a related field;
- CIPD certification is an asset;
- 15+ years of HR business partner experience, preferably in a large organisation which operates in matrix model;
- Several years of experience being part of senior leadership team or board;
- Knowledge of fundamental HR regulations across Middle East and Africa;
- Demonstrated competence in the all HR functional areas such as compensation, employee relations, coaching, organizational development, diversity, benefits, employee communications and talent attraction and development;
- Must be effective at influencing management and conflict resolution;
- Measured and balanced judgment, emotional intelligence, and strong presence;
- Must have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Experience in navigating efficiently through a matrix organization;
- Informal roll up your sleeves and get it done leadership style that is people-centric, effective and marked by a high level of energy;
- Demonstrated track record in providing relevant people solutions to complex or sensitive business issues and challenges;
- Ability to lead a multi-cultural group of HR professionals;
- Well-developed influencing skills, unquestioned sense of integrity, and confidence to effectively address sensitive and ambiguous HR issues;
- Sound judgment, business acumen and the ability to contribute to the business as a whole
