Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Human Resources Manager will model the firms mission, values and beliefs in action, particularly with respect to international-mindedness and intercultural understanding.

The HR Manager is expected to show exceptional standards of care and skills focusing upon the quality of employment relationships. All members are expected to take a full and active role within the firm, as well as assist in growing and developing the firm as necessary. The HR Manager is the firms leading support staff and works as part of the Senior Leadership Team to assist the Chief Operating Officer in their duty to ensure that the firm meets its educational aims. The core expectations are as follows:

• Assisting the Chief Operating Officer in providing professional leadership and management of the firm’s academic and support staff, while ensuring to improve their effectiveness to achieve improved standards of achievements within the group
• Promoting the highest standards of business ethos within the HR function of the firm
• Ensuring the most effective use of resources in support of the firm objectives

Key Duties and Responsibilities

General

• Using data analysis, evaluation and reporting systems to ensure that they are streamlined to maximize efficiency and avoid duplication
• Attending Senior Leadership Team meetings
• Planning and managing change in accordance with the firms development/strategic plan
• Leading and managing all personnel

Human Resource Management

• Set-up & manage the HR department by developing and implementing all HR Policies, strategies and procedures
• Taking care of all recruiting needs - this includes developing and updating job descriptions/requirements, preparing job posts, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates;
• Ensuring criminal records clearance for new and existing appointments and fulfilment of the safer recruitment policy;
• Maintain a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys, scheduling and conducting job evaluations, preparing pay budgets, monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions, recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions;
• Implement periodic professional development for all new and current employees and ensuring their participation in training and development opportunities identified by the firm or developed as an outcome of performance management;
• Implement and develop policies regarding work conditions, performance management, disciplinary procedures, and absence and vacation management;
• Disseminating relevant HR policies and procedures and ensuring that staff members understand the importance of putting them into practice;
• Monitor the wellbeing of all employees, provide counseling and resolving conflicts;
• Administering payroll activities and maintaining confidential employee records;
• Staying up-to-date, interpreting and advising on UAE Labor law;
• Organize staff events such as annual functions, team-building activities, as required;
• At all times, encourage and promote a positive working environment;
• Performing any reasonable duties as requested by the Chief Operations Officer.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources (preferred) or other relevant degree
• 5-8 years GCC experience
• In-depth working knowledge of the UAE Labor Law
• Fluent English speaker. Arabic is desirable
• Experience working in an Educational environment
• An appreciation for environmental sustainability and values-based education.
